The first issue of humus, the four-monthly magazine on ceramic culture, strategy and technique, published by Fondazione Iris and edited by Gianni Sassi and Sergio Albergoni’s agency Al.Sa, came out in April 1973. Over fifty years later, humus will return as a digital magazine: a new version that will maintain all the original purposes as cultural nourishment, triggering common and necessary changes starting from ideas.

The digital magazine humus – growing ideas will set out to be a platform for insight into design and ceramic fields, in relation to current hot topics (one per month). It will showcase the voices of architects, artists and designers, as well as authoritative figures from the worlds of science and creativity – artists, photographers, teachers, experimenters – illustrating their frontier research. It will investigate a wide range of topics: economics, sociology, literature, geopolitics, physics, biology, computing, to trigger connections and synapses useful for the intelligence of things. Ceramics, considered both a material of choice and a cultural catalyst, will become the central focus of new visions and innovative pathways.
