THE ARCHITECTS SERIES – A DOCUMENTARY ON: TECTOO

The Architects Series – A documentary on Tectoo is the latest installment of the series, produced by The Plan Magazine in partnership with Iris Ceramica Group, dedicated to the most interesting and renowned practices operating in Italian and international architecture. Tectoo’s architecture balances innovation and adaptability – a design vision that has grown from the international experience of Susanna Scarabicchi and Andrea Peschiera that brings sustainable, cutting-edge spaces to life.

The premiere of the documentary will stream live on Thursday, March 27, at 6 p.m. CET, 5 p.m. UK GMT, 12 p.m. US EST, followed by the roundtable discussion, “Shaping Desires: How to Achieve Well-Being Through Sustainable and Community-Focused Spaces”, with the participation of the studio principals and other industry experts.

Tectoo has distinguished itself with an approach to architecture that fuses creativity, technical excellence, and environmental awareness. The studio is founded on the conviction that designing for the future means creating spaces that prioritize urban regeneration, a strong sense of place, and architectural quality.

Each project begins with a through research process that uses drawings, physical models, and 3D visualizations to explore innovative solutions and optimize design choices. Adaptability is a cornerstone of the studio’s practice, which it has fine-tuned through international projects ranging from private homes to major urban developments, and cultural and commercial buildings.

Among Tectoo’s defining traits is constant communication with clients, which is essential for setting shared goals and addressing functional, aesthetic, and environmental requirements. The studio collaborates with an extensive network of specialists to develop integrated, state-of-the-art solutions.

Tectoo’s keen design insight is demonstrated by its ability to interpret client needs and translate them into dynamic, functional spaces. This approach has enabled it to tackle complex projects with a rigorous, innovative methodology.

The studio integrates into its workflow advanced digital processes, such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), with meticulous attention to construction details and artisanal quality. This, and other digital platforms, enable the precise management of the design process, ensuring exceptional quality control and effective resource optimization.

Every project is the outcome of an analytical process that takes into account the urban, cultural, and social contexts. The studio’s design approach centers on a holistic vision that, by balancing technical and aesthetic aspects, creates spaces that nurture meaningful interactions and connections between occupants and their environment. Tectoo’s most notable projects include VP22 in Milan, Angst in Bordighera, Porto Carlo Riva in Rapallo, the Linate Airport District (LAD) in Milan, and The Student Hotel in Turin.

The practice’s ability to translate traditional architectural typologies into contemporary language has bolstered its international reputation, earning it accolades and awards for the quality and sustainability of its work.

Recently, Tectoo Studio has been honored with prestigious awards, including The Plan Real Estate Awards 2024 in Italy and the OPAL Award in London, confirming their commitment to innovation and excellence.
