THE WORLD’S FIRST CERAMIC SLAB MADE FROM GREEN HYDROGEN HAS BEEN PRODUCED
The creation of the first 4D technical ceramic slab using green hydrogen – hydrogen obtained with renewable energy – and natural gas has been announced by Iris Ceramica Group and Edison Next.
In particular, the slab produced is 3.2m long, 1,6m wide and 12mm thick; it is characterised for its four dimensions – and for this reason called 4D Ceramics – in which at the three-dimensionality of the material and the vein, crossing the entire thickness of the slab, the fourth dimension of sustainability is added.
The ceramic industry’s decarbonization process is being carried out jointly by Iris Ceramica Group and Edison Next, and this is a pioneering industrial process that represents the first concrete result.
