ROMANO AND FEDERICA MINOZZI ACKNOWLEDGED AT THE 21ST “EY ENTERPRENEUR OF THE YEAR” AWARDS

The 21st EY “Entrepreneur of the Year” Awards were presented on November 9 in Milan’s beautiful Palazzo Mezzanotte.
The awards are presented to outstanding businesspeople whose enterprising spirit and hard work have made a significant contribution to growth of the country’s economy, expressing its spirit of innovation and international growth.
During the evening, awards were presented to winners in seven categories in addition to the Special Jury Award and the Start-up Award.
The ceramics industry starred in the area of innovation and digital transformation.

The Innovation Award was presented to Romano Minozzi and Federica Minozzi, Chairman and CEO of the Iris Ceramica Group, “for succeeding in exploring new ways of broadening the confines of ceramics in Italy and all over the world, creating products combining innovation in materials and colours with advanced technologies, study of new combinations of materials and an ability to rethink styles and functions, making sustainability a key to the company’s competitiveness”.

The awards were presented by a panel of judges chaired by Gianni Mion, Chairman of Fila S.p.A. and Space3 S.p.A., and also including Alberto Baban, Confindustria Vice Chairman and Chairman of the association small industry section; Giampio Bracchi, Honorary Chairman of Fondazione Politecnico di Milano and Polihub; Guido Corbetta, Professor of Corporate Strategy at Università Bocconi in Milan; Linda Gilli, Chairman and CEO of Inaz S.r.l.; Marco Giovannini, Chairman of Guala Closures S.p.A.; Monica Mandelli, Managing Director of KKR & Co. in New York; and Paolo Scudieri, CEO of Adler Plastic S.p.A..

The EY Growth Barometer 2017 – Italy, a report analysing how Italian companies are implementing their plans for growth, was presented during the event. EY’s study looked at 2340 top managers in companies with revenues between 1 million and 3 billion dollars and a selection of rapidly growing companies less than five years old.
The twenty-first edition of the Entrepreneur of the Year Awards was held by EY with the support of HSBC as main partner and Spencer Stuart, with media partners L’Economia del Corriere and Ansa.
