“DESIGNING THE INVISIBLE” AT THE NEW ICG GALLERY DUBAI
From 3 to 7 November, on the occasion of Dubai Design Week 2026, Iris Ceramica Group officially inaugurates its new ICG Gallery in Dubai (Building 6 – Suite B101, Dubai Design District) with “Designing the Invisible”, a concept that explores the sensory dimension of design and its role in shaping the experience of space.
Open to the design and architecture community, the programme invites visitors to move beyond a purely visual approach to design and embrace a more holistic perspective. Matter, texture, sound and scent become elements of a unified sensory landscape, capable of transforming how a space is experienced, interpreted and remembered. Designing the invisible means designing what cannot be seen, recognising the role of all the elements that contribute to shaping our perception of a space: the feel of a surface to the touch, the way sound travels through an environment, a colour that moves us, or a fragrance that evokes a memory or suggests an atmosphere.
Surfaces, textures and materiality intertwine with scents and sounds, becoming part of an experience that places people at its centre and explores how they connect with their surroundings.
The concept takes shape through Atmospheres Lab: Surfaces, Sound & Scent, an interactive, hands-on workshop developed in collaboration with Campomarzio70, a leading name in the art of perfumery, and Autex Acoustics®, an international company specialising in acoustic design solutions. Available every day, the workshop invites participants to explore the relationship between matter, touch, sound and smell, bringing together different elements that contribute to defining the identity and atmosphere of a space: surfaces, voices, music and fragrances.
To further substantiate the concept and provide it with a scientific foundation, the showroom will host a Private Conversation on neuroarchitecture on Tuesday, 3 November, at 5:30 p.m. Drawing on the foundations of neuroscience and exploring their application to architectural practice, this in-depth discussion offers a valuable learning opportunity for professionals who design spaces and environments to be experienced and inhabited.
