THE NAMES OF THE CATEGORY WINNERS OF THE ARCHITECTURE DRAWING PRIZE 2023 ARE ANNOUNCED
The panel announced the names of the category winners of The Architecture Drawing Prize 2023: this International Prize, supported by Iris Ceramica Group, organised and promoted by Make Architects, Sir John Soane’s Museum in London along with the World Architecture Festival (WAF). The Prize celebrates the art of architectural drawing in three categories: hand, digital and hybrid drawing.
- The winner of the Digital category is Eugene Tan. His drawing ‘The Archatographic Map of the Incomplete Landscape on Pedra Branca’ explores the vulnerability of our planet, more specifically in Singapore.
- The winner of the Hand-Drawn category is ‘Grundtvig’ by Ben Johnson. The ink drawing is inspired by the 1920s Grundtvig Church in Copenhagen made using six million bricks.
- The 2023 Hybrid category winner is ‘(Re)membering the See Monster’ by Eldry John Infante. It renders the transformation of a defunct oil platform and welcomes discussions that go beyond a structure’s physicality.
Each category also presents a selection of deserving works selected by the authoritative panel, which includes our CEO Federica Minozzi; Lily Jencks of the Lily Jencks Studio; the artists Ben Langlands and Nikki Bell; the artist Pablo Bronstein; Senior Partner of Foster + Partners, Narinder Sagoo, the founder of Make Architects, Ken Shuttleworth and the Exhibition Manager of the Sir John Soane’s Museum, Louise Stewart.
The selected works will be on show time at the World Architecture Festival in Singapore, from 29 November to 1 December 2023, and from 31 January to 3 March 2024 at the Sir John Soane’s Museum in London. For the occasion, the Absolute Winner of this edition will be announced on 29 January.
